About

Denita M. Jones (She/Her) MSW, LMSW believes every client has a story and she wants to hear yours. Denita understands every person’s desire to be heard and validated, meeting each client where they are in their own journey towards healing. Denita builds strong, healthy professional relationships with her clients by listening to their current struggles, strengths, and goals. She does this by providing evidence-based therapies such as Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. Denita enjoys working with individuals, adolescents, families, couples. She has specialized training working with veterans and their families. As the wife of a disabled Marine veteran, she is able to work with clients using both her professional skills and personal understanding of those who have served in the military and the challenges their families often face.

As a certified Hypnotherapist, Denita is able to facilitate and utilize a hypnotic state (simply, a relaxed state) with clients to help increase client motivation for change and ease tension often present when processing difficult events, experiences, or behaviors. Unlike what people may perceive from culture, hypnosis is self-regulated, altered state of consciousness. A popular myth is that people lose control and consciousness during hypnosis, which is untrue. This therapeutic tool allows the client to relax, concentrating and focusing on their own inner resources that may increase personal change and their ability to govern their behaviors. The applications of hypnotherapy can be used for, but are not limited to, pain control, sleep disorders, hypertension and high blood pressure, Anxiety Disorders, Eating Disorders, Self-image issues, Dermatologic Disorders etc.

For more information about this this helpful therapeutic tool, please email Denita directly, or select her name in the online inquiry box. She is happy to provide more in-depth information about scheduling a session for hypontherapy.
