About

Alleyna is a passionate therapist who values and honors the unique individuality of each client. With a holistic and eclectic approach, she tailors the therapeutic experience to best fit client goals. Combining person-centered therapy, art-informed CBT, and reality therapy, Alleyna creates a personalized and distinctive journey for her clients. She firmly believes that one's perception plays a crucial role in their overall mental well-being, recognizing that distorted perceptions can hinder the experience of joy. By increasing mindfulness while maintaining realism, Alleyna supports her clients in achieving their goals.

When working with children and teens, Alleyna incorporates art and other expressive interventions as alternatives to traditional talk therapy. She aims to support and advocate for her young clients as they grow and learn to become their best selves. Additionally, she facilitates Art-Informed CBT groups for children and teens, empowering them to express themselves through artistic mediums while addressing their emotional well-being. With young adults and college students, Alleyna focuses on providing support during their transitions into new roles, such as careers, peer relationships, and overall life adjustments. As a multiethnic therapist, Alleyna is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all her clients. She also enjoys working with high-performing individuals and children of high-performing parents.

As an Associate Professional Counselor, Alleyna is practicing under the clinical direction of Sarah Valeriay, LMFT, LPC and is directly supervised by Jamie Hall, MEd, LPC, BCC, CPCS. When not working, Alleyna enjoys immersing herself in various activities. She finds solace and inspiration in reading and writing, which allows her to explore new ideas and perspectives. Taking walks in nature is another way she rejuvenates her mind and finds peace. Music is a constant companion for her, as she believes in its power to uplift and heal.

In addition to her personal interests, Alleyna also dedicates her time to mentoring students attending KSU and graduate counseling/psychology students. Guiding and supporting aspiring therapists is a fulfilling endeavor for her, as she believes in the importance of nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals.
